At THCS Ly Tu Trong, Lam Dong, the program “Trao cơ hội, nối ước mơ” proudly awards a scholarship to K'Hoen, a student from class 9A5, facing extremely challenging circumstances.

K’Hoen, a student from Class 9A5 at Ly Tu Trong Secondary School

K’Hoen's family falls into the category of persistent poverty. Her parents are the primary labor force in the household. However, her father, who used to work as a massage and acupuncture practitioner for the neighbors, has been blind for a long time, and this condition has been inherited by K’Hoen's three siblings. Moreover, all three also suffer from hearing impairment. K’Hoen's mother takes on various odd jobs to make ends meet, and her daily income is inconsistent. The burdens on the family have led K’Hoen's sister to develop epilepsy.

Facing financial constraints, even though she is only in the 9th grade, K’Hoen has mature thoughts beyond her 15 years. Out of love for her hardworking parents, she proactively assists with household chores such as cleaning and cooking. The challenging circumstances seem to have forced K’Hoen to mature faster compared to her peers.

K’Hoen always lends a helping hand to her mother with household chores.

She consistently sees her family as motivation to strive for excellence in her studies, aiming to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer in the future.

"K’Hoen is a shining example not only for the 9A5 class but also for all students from the same community, those facing difficult circumstances in school, as well as those in the surrounding areas. Her grasp of knowledge surpasses that of her peers with challenging backgrounds, and she is among the students with the best academic achievements," shared Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice Principal of Ly Tu Trong Middle School.

Recognizing her resilient and unwavering determination, the Vietnam Lottery Company (Vietlott) visited Ly Tu Trong Middle School to award K’Hoen a scholarship in the "Granting Opportunities, Connecting Dreams" program. It is hoped that this scholarship will serve as a meaningful morale boost, encouraging her to continue striving on her academic journey and soon become a talent in the future.
