Pham Hong Phuc is a typical student in class 11A2, Kpă Klong Middle School-High School, Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province. Although the family is a poor household, his mother has cancer, his father works far away, his home is far from school, but overcoming his circumstances, Hong Phuc has won the title of excellent student for 11 consecutive years.

The program "Giving opportunities - Connecting dreams" this time visited Pham Hong Phuc - a student of class 11A2 from Kpă Klong Middle School and High School, Mang Yang District, Gia Lai Province. The school is located in Kon Thup town, 28 km from the center of Mang Yang district and 51 km from the administrative center of Gia Lai.

The family is poor, Phuc's mother has been suffering from cancer for several years, and his father has to work as a hired laborer with unstable income. Home far from school but beyond the circumstances, along with the encouragement and will to rise up in life from his parents, Hong Phuc has been awarded the title of excellent student for 11 consecutive years and is an exemplary study assistant of the class.

Phuc's mother confided: "I have cancer and have been undergoing chemotherapy for 2 years, so I can only stay at home and take care of the chicks, but I can't do other heavy jobs." His father is also unable to work far away because of his mother's health condition.

But as a mother, she still wants her children to go to school because seeing them succeed is her biggest encouragement to fight against illness.

"Children are educated, they don't know how to work in the future, but if they go to school, they will have a lot of knowledge."

Although still at school age, Phuc is not as carefree as his peers that he had to work with his father to earn extra income. The work of the father and son is hard, and meals are not available, so his father also does many other jobs. As for Phuc, besides helping his father, he also herds cows for hire.

The family situation is so difficult, but Hong Phuc still does not stop trying. Not only self-study, but he also accompanied his brother to study together. Phuc is determined to go to school to fulfill his dream of becoming an Army Officer. He shared that she wanted to study at the Military Technical Academy. Born and raised in a difficult family, Phuc never wanted to give up, because he knew that the only way to study and sharpen himself would be to help him and his family escape poverty.

Knowing the difficult situation of the poor student, the representative of Vietlott and the "Trao co hoi - Noi uoc mo" Program came to class 11A2 of Kpă Klong Middle School and High School to give him a scholarship. This is a scholarship given to Hong Phuc by the program with the hope that he can fulfill his dream, so that he can continue to have enough confidence and motivation to overcome the situation, try to continue to make that dream come true.
