Vietlott and the journey to continue writing dreams for children in difficult circumstances

29/12/2021 15:03

With the spirit of social responsibility and the motto "chance to be better", Vietlott has started the journey of "Giving opportunities - Connecting dreams" with VTC from 2020, giving meaningful scholarships to students with difficult circumstances, helping them have more motivation to continue going to school.

On July 31, 2020 in Hanoi, Vietlott and VTC cooperated to implement the program "Giving opportunities - Connecting dreams". The program is a bridge to bring information and difficult situations in many localities across the country, from mountainous areas to plains, to donors and benefactors. Up to now, "Give an opportunity - Connect a dream" has been an opportunity for Vietlott to give valuable scholarships to students who still face many difficulties in life.

Broadcasting for the first time since August 2020, after more than a year, "Giving opportunities - Connecting dreams" has achieved certain results on its way. Specifically, the program has helped 32 students, of which in 2021 alone, scholarships have been awarded to 21 students. At the same time, this year, the program has also made its mark in all three regions of the North, Central and South, spreading the spirit of love to many localities across the country.

The students who receive the scholarship are all from extremely difficult circumstances, orphaned parents or poor households. In particular, there are some children who still lost their parents, relatives and houses in the landslide in Tra Leng at the end of 2020. Despite facing many adversities in life, they are all good and obedient students and most importantly, always try to improve in learning.

For example, Tran Thi Minh Chau, a 9th grade student at Ethnic Minority Semi-boarding High School, Tra Leng Secondary School, Nam Tra My, Quang Nam. Minh Chau's father was swept away in a flash flood on October 28, 2020. Living with her aunt in her grandmother's house, which is only 30m2 wide, 14 years old Chau already knows how to take care of herself and do everything in the house. At school, she is also an agile and vivacious assistant professor of fine arts with good academic performance, hardworking, docile, and often helped friends. Minh Chau dreams of becoming a literature teacher in her own village in the future, and hopes that the scholarship from Vietlott can continue to write her dream on the upcoming journey.

Minh Chau could not hold back tears when talking about her father.

Or like the case of Pham Thi Ha, a student of Muong ethnic group in Dong Coc village, Xuan Phu commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa. Orphaned at a young age, raised by her uncle, whose daily expenses depend only on state subsidies, Ha has become a docile, independent girl. Overcoming difficult circumstances, for 8 years in a row, Ha has always been a good student, held the position of class leader and achieved remarkable achievements in school movements. The wall covered with Ha's certificate of merit is a testament to her efforts worthy of a scholarship from Vietlott.

Pham Thi Ha.

Minh Chau and Pham Thi Ha are just two of many typical students on the journey of "Giving Opportunities - Connecting Dreams". Not only are they in difficult circumstances, they are also bright examples of overcoming difficulties and having many achievements in learning. They all have a simple dream of continuing to go to school and going to university and return to contribute to their homeland. The scholarships from Vietlott are not only materially meaningful but also a great spiritual motivation to help them stand firmer on the path of accessing knowledge to realize their dreams.

“Give Opportunities - Connect Dreams” is one of many programs on Vietlott's enduring social security journey over the years. Certainly, entering 2022, this journey will continue to be extended and bring supporting arms to more localities across the country.
